Data & integrations

How SiteAlert connects to your other tools, and what it does with the data.

Connecting Google

Which integrations does SiteAlert support?

Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4. Search Console powers ranking-drop detection and sharper cannibalization scoring; Analytics powers tracking-health alerts. See Connecting Search Console and Connecting Analytics.

Do I have to connect Search Console?

No, it's optional, but it's highly recommended. Without it, SiteAlert still tracks every change. With it, you also get ranking-drop detection and we can tie drops back to the change that caused them.

What does connecting Search Console unlock?

Pages losing Google clicks (with the likely cause lined up next to them) and more confident cannibalization detection based on the real searches your pages share.

What does connecting Analytics unlock?

We watch your Google Analytics 4 setup and warn you when an event stops firing or a property goes quiet, so you catch broken tracking before it ruins your reports. See Tracking health.

Do you change anything in my Google account?

No. We only ever read your data. We never modify your Search Console or Analytics setup.

Can I disconnect an integration later?

Yes, anytime, from the Integrations page. We forget the connection and unmap your properties, and you can reconnect whenever you like.

Alerts & exporting

Where do alerts get delivered?

Important changes always appear in your in-app notifications inbox, and we can email you on a schedule you control. See Notification preferences.

Can I get alerts in Slack?

We're expanding where alerts can land. Email and the in-app inbox are available today, with more channels on the way, tell us what you'd like and we'll keep you posted.

Can I export my data?

Yes. For example, you can export your search-performance drops as a CSV to share or analyse elsewhere.

Do you offer an API?

If programmatic access matters to you, let us know, it helps us prioritise.

What data do you store about my site?

We store the page data we crawl (so we can compare versions over time) and, if you connect them, the Search Console and Analytics figures we need for drop and tracking detection. See Privacy & security.
