Search performance
Search performance shows you pages that are losing clicks from Google, and helps you tie that drop back to a change on your site. It's powered by your Google Search Console data, so you'll need that connected first. See Connecting Search Console.
What a "drop" means
We compare each page's recent Google clicks against its normal level (a 28-day baseline). When clicks fall off a cliff, we flag it as a drop:
| Drop | What it means |
|---|---|
| Hard drop | A big fall, half or more of the page's clicks gone. |
| Soft drop | A noticeable fall, somewhere around a third to a half. |
The cards at the top of the page show how many hard and soft drops are open, and how many sites we're watching.
Reading the drops table
Each row is a page that's losing clicks. You'll see:
- The site and the URL
- Baseline clicks per week (its normal level)
- Recent clicks per week (where it is now)
- The percentage drop
- The date we detected it
Click a row to open the page panel, with the daily click curve from Google and any content changes lined up against it on the same timeline.
The "why" behind a drop
This is the useful part. Because SiteAlert already tracks every change on your pages, it can show ranking drops next to the changes that happened around the same time. So instead of just "this page lost clicks," you get "this page lost clicks right after its title was rewritten on the 14th."
A drop that lines up with a content change is your prime suspect. Open the page, compare the dates, and you'll often spot the cause in seconds.
