Team & roles
SiteAlert is better with your team in it. Invite the people who care about your sites, give them the right level of access, and everyone sees the same alerts. This page covers inviting people, what each role can do, accepting an invite, and switching between companies.
Inviting teammates
Open Members
Go to Settings, then Members.
Send an invite
Enter the person's email, choose a role, and click send. We email them an invite link.
They join
They click the link, sign in, and they're in your company. Easy.
You'll see pending invites in a list, with how long each one is still valid. You can resend an invite if it expired before they got to it.
What each role can do
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including company settings and managing other members. |
| Admin | Manage members, sites and settings. Day-to-day running of the account. |
| Member | Work with sites, changes and alerts, but not manage the team. |
| Viewer | Look but don't touch, perfect for stakeholders who just want visibility. |
Pick the lowest role that lets someone do their job. You can always change it later from the Members page.
Accepting an invite
Got an invite email? Click the link and:
- If you're new, sign in (Google or email link) and you'll join the company automatically.
- If you're already signed in with the invited email, just accept.
- If you're signed in as someone else, sign out and sign back in with the invited address.
Invites expire after a while, so if yours says it's expired, ask whoever invited you to send a fresh one.
An invite is tied to the email address it was sent to. Accept it with that same address, or ask for a new invite to the address you'd rather use.
Switching between companies
You might belong to more than one company, your own and a client's, say. Use the company switcher at the top of the menu to jump between them. Each company has its own sites, alerts and team, kept completely separate.
